The inspiration to host the Women’s Midlife Revolution Summit 2018, came to me, as I planned to do a summit on natural menopause transition. I originally thought of herbs, nutrition, and nutrients to help sooth some of the most irritating “symptoms”. I am myself still in the middle of my own journey through midlife, I soon understood that I wanted to do something else, something different.  While researching potential speakers, it dawned on me, that for us women, Midlife and what happens in us goes way deeper than being done with ovulating and having no more periods and the known sometimes debilitating symptoms while adjusting. 

I wanted answers, can I prepare for this life passage, is there a right way, how can I support this process, what is the meaning of all this, why do I feel like everything is wrong in my life and my body, why do I feel like I am going out of my mind, am I the only one feeling so lost and alone at times, will this ever end?

 This is how this summit started to take shape. One by one I found these wonderful women and their wonderful contributions in their work and inspirations, and their own stories of transformation and liberation. Some have transitioned and successfully transformed, others are in the midst of it, and others just started their journey. But we all have one thing in common, and that is, to shift the perception of women’s aging, Midlife, and Menopausal Transition from negative to an exciting journey of reclaiming our power.

It is time to celebrate this life passage, as the Menopausal Transition prepares the body, mind, and soul for that third stage in our lives where we actually can become masters of life as empresses and goddesses. But for many of us, the thought of living beyond 50 for another 30, 40, or more years is shaded by fears of chronic disease, high medical bills and even living alone.

This is why my guests and I present you this opportunity to take action now and learn to understand and treat ourselves in ways that favor long healthy meaningful years and decades, to which we can gracefully look forward to.

Modern Medicine treats Menopause like a disease with symptoms that need to be suppressed and medicated. Too many midlifers are prescribed Hormones, Painkillers, Antidepressants, and Sleeping Aids. We were made believe, that living up to an old age was unheard of before the invention of hormone therapy. Many of us believe, that it is our purpose and virtue to give way more than is sustainable for us to give. Plus we are so accustomed to adapt to the needs of others, and over the years it leaves us exhausted and burned out. We forget how to understand our needs and how to communicate them with us and those around us.
